The focus of Prairie Winds Palominos is breeding, training, and sale of safe, people-friendly horses for trail, pleasure riding, and ranch work.
Our ranch in northeast Kansas provides an environment in which our horses can learn lessons essential to their natural development. They are permitted to "be horses" while finding and living their roles as members of a herd. At the same time, they are handled frequently so they understand to respect humans as leaders.
The goal of our breeding program is to produce versatile horses with classic conformation. Our breeding stock possess the most desireable characterstics of the best foundation quarter horses: balanced conformation, developed musculature, refined heads, clean throatlatches, and elegant, well-defined necks.
Our training program emphasizes the mental and emotional growth and well-being of our equine pupils. The natural horsemanship methods we use stress respect for the unique personalities and potential of each of our horses. Partnership is the objective. Our techniques result in a trusting, rewarding experience for horse and rider.
